The Walk to Remember is lined with 158 trees, each dedicated to a Canadian soldier who was killed in the Afghanistan conflict. At the end of the walk is the Afghanistan War Memorial.

Of the more than 40,000 Canadian Armed Forces members who served in the Afghanistan theatre of operations between 2001 and 2014, 158 Canadians died serving their nation.

At the Derek Doubleday Arboretum a walk of 158 trees has been dedicated to those that died in the conflict. At the end of the walk is this steel war memorial that is encircled in a ribbon of stainless steel. The ribbon has the name of soldiers that died.
