The memorial consists of a large granite cross affixed to the side of the Bismarck Tower. An inscription on the arm of the cross reads: GEGEN ALEE KRIEGE [English translation: AGAINST ALL WARS].
A plaque embedded on a rock near the base of the memorial cross reads:

The cross is located on the Salzgitter Bismarck Tower. This is an observation tower that was constructed in 1900. It is different from most other Bismarck towers because it does not have an all-stone design. Rather it has a base of bricks with a lattice tower on top. There's a beautiful view at this location.
