[EN] The presence of a church dedicated to saint Genevieve has been documented for several centuries. Tradition holds that the family of Genevieve (the patron saint of the city of Paris) possessed pastures extending into what is now the cities of Gennevilliers and Asnières.

At the beginning of the 18th century, the church, consecrated in 1541, was too small. The Abbey Antoine Lemoyne, doctor at the Sorbonne, bore the cost of the construction of the current church, which was consacrated by Jean-Baptiste-Louis-Gaston de Noailles on September 6, 1711. In 1868, the emperor Napoléon III and the empress offered two bells to the church. But the war of 1870 damaged the bell tower and in 1872, two new bells were installed.

A modern replica of the saint Genevieve statue in Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre stands above the entrance.
