Restaurace Makkabi, výrazná žlutou fasádou a vývesním štítem, známá svou kuchyní a nekolika druhy cepovaného piva, se salonkem, zimní terasou i letní zahrádkou, je dnes již neodmyslitelnou soucástí naucné trasy židovským mestem. Stojí kousek od hlavní atrakce této historické ctvrti – synagogy s židovským muzeem, ve Velenove ulici, pojmenované po zakladateli rodu pánu z Boskovic. Lehce dostupná je i od zámku, hradu, mestského muzea ci z hlavního námestí.

Makkabi není obycejná hospoda. Má svého ducha a atmosféru. Na stenách ožívá minulost v podobe fotek i obrazu už neexistujících kouzelných zákoutí boskovické židovské ctvrti. V názvu se zrcadlí pripomínka telocvicny židovského sportovního spolku Makkabi, jež stávala hned za rohem. A v jídelnícku najdete i pokrmy, jejichž receptura je inspirovaná židovskou kuchyní. Nejsou košer, ale stojí za ochutnání.
