Hunebed D20 - Drouwen NL - Megalithic Monuments on Waymarking.com

The province of Drenthe has many dolmen, called "Hunebed" in Dutch.

What makes D20 special is the large presence of the kerbstones. It is a low but relatively wide dolmen. He misses one capstone and the port is clearly visible, because the gate capstone here is still present. The kerbstones pretty close to the port.
This is a fairly complete dolmen. What stands out at once as the megalith see is that the ring of bricks positioned relatively close to the carrying stones, probably because the capstones themselves were not so high. There are still five of the seven stone deck. The dolmen is about 11 meters long.

Purpose: Even though "hunebedden" are often thought to be burial grounds, there is ample evidence that corpses were burnt instead of buried. Some of the "hunebedden" do contain artifacts thought to be to help deceased people on their last voyage.
