From Wikipedia: "Gottfried Keller (19 July 1819 – 15 July 1890) was a Swiss poet and writer of German literature. Best known for his novel Green Henry (German: Der grüne Heinrich), he became one of the most popular narrators of literary realism in the late 19th century."

The monument is located near the lake shore in Zürich Enge. It is a over life-size bust of the artist on a column, next to a large rectangular block that has the titles of all his writings engraved and small bench, the three pieces are placed on a stone square, all made of limestone.

The piece was created in 1963 by Otto Charles Bänninger. It was funded by a insurance company on occasion on the 100th anniversary and donated to the city of Zürich. The monument was restored in early 2015.
