The gate is to be found essentially at that intersection. Made of mortared brick, the gate was a gift to the cemetery from Franklin Billings, given in memory of his wife of 58 years, Marion. Mounted in the gate posts are two granite plaques.

The right plaque reads:

NEWPORT
CEMETERY
ESTABLISHED
1902
The left plaque reads:

THIS MEMORIAL GATE
PRESENTED TO
NEWPORT CEMETERY
ON SEPTEMBER 30, 1984
BY FRANKLIN BILLINGS
IN MEMORY OF MARION
HIS WIFE OF 58 YEARS.

Born 13 January, 1899, Marion passed away in January of 1984. Unfortunately, nothing more is known of Marion, nor of Franklin, except that they were residents of Newport.
Location: Newport Cemetery
