Isabel Livingstone wants to marry her boyfriend, Arthur Evans, but her elderly mother, Daisy,will have non of it. Daisy dies and is cremated before Sydney and Geordie can prevent it. Isabel’s boyfriend is a con artist known to the police. He runs away after Daisy’s sister Gladys is also found dead. Arthur is soon captured by the police and charged with murder. Sydney believes Arthur is innocent and discovers the real murderer is the local GP doing mercy killings.
