The Bayswater War Memorial was originally erected to commemorate the soldiers of World War One who had enlisted from the district and had not returned. The memorial now commemorates those who fell in other conflicts in which Australia has been involved.A feature of this memorial that makes if different from others is the stone slouch hat below the inscription on the front
On the front is a wreath encircling the words "Lest We Forget" directly under which is the inscription :-
Erected by the
residents of Bayswater
in memory of her sons
who fell in the Great War
1914 - 1918.
They gave their lives for their country.
On the sides are the names of the fallen whilst on the back is a plaque that reads:-
In memory of those who gave their lives WW II 1939 -1945,
Korea 1950 - 1953,
Malaya 1948 -1960,
Borneo 1962 - 1966,
Vietnam 1962 - 1972.
