Beautiful St. Mary the Virgin Anglican church stands on a prominent hill overlooking Middle Road in the heart of Warwick parish. It is surrounded by a church burial yard featuring a handsome WWI memorial dedicated to the men of the parish who fought and died in that war, giving their lives for King and country.

"The early church in Bermuda during the mid 1660s seems to have suffered much dissension between Puritan and Church of England but the Colonists made firm their choice of the Church of England as their church and Warwick saw its first church built on a rise in the land in 1626, though very primitive in appearance.
It was also one of the first four churches in Bermuda and after rebuilding in 1832 was described as an austerely simple building with its unusual pepper pot tower and iron weather vane. The Archdeacon during that period was Aubrey Spencer an ancestor of the late Princess Diana of Britain. His remit appears to have been both Parishes of Warwick and Paget until 1927 when they were separated. St. Marys has unique panelling around the interior made of cedar, a wood that was abundant at that time.
Today, St. Marys is at the centre of a small village community graced by a giant rubber tree and is much more than an austerely simple building after many improvements, additions including the addition of many beautiful stained glass windows and those on the East wall over the altar are exquisitely enhanced when the sun shines through them on a spring morning.
