This active quarry is located right near the welcome sign north of town. While there is a "No Trespassing" sign that cautions the public that this is a blasting zone, there is a safe place to view it from the side of the road. It is owned by RiverStone Group, Inc, which started in 1917 under the name Moline Consumers Company and specializes in construction materials.
Type of Stone/Ore mined: Concrete stone, asphalt stone, base stone, rip-rap, asphalt and concrete sand, sand and agricultural lime.
