Built in 1852, St Mark's Anglican Church was modeled on Holy Trinity, Horncastle in Lincolnshire, England. Edmund Blacket recommended the design and oversaw construction. The rectory, also designed by Blacket, is heritage-listed.

St Mark's is a popular wedding venue. It has hosted weddings such as Elton John's first marriage with Renate Blauel and Michael Jackson with Debbie Roweand. It was also the site of the fictional wedding in the Australian film Muriel's Wedding.
