Besides the actual Sanger Cemetery, construction of nearby Lake Ray Roberts in the 1980s required relocation of cemeteries that were going to be covered with water. Burials from West, Jackie Davis, Rolls-McKinzey, Maxwell-Tevault, Bloomfield, and Jones Cemeteries were all relocated to cemeteries in Denton, Cooke, and Grayson Counties, with Sanger Cemetery providing space. The majority of the burials can be found on the west side of the cemetery, as the older graves look a little out of place in a section of the cemetery with some newer burials.
