Cairns Swimming Lagoon is a vast 4800sq m salt water swimming facility containing crystal clear seawater. It is open to the public since 2003.
The Lagoon is filled with salt water from the Trinity Inlet which is filtered through a state-of-the-art filtration system. It can comfortably accommodate 1000 swimmers at one time.
Entry to the Lagoon is free. Lifeguards are on duty while the Lagoon is open. Wheelchair access to the Lagoon is available. Toilet and shower facilities are located in the amenities block alongside the Lagoon.

All-year round
Thursday to Tuesday: 6am-9pm
Wednesday: midday-9pm (closed for maintenance until midday)
Public holidays: 6am-9pm
