This memorial, dedicated to the memory of Fritz G. Wipplinger, is at the entrance to the Sanders County Fairgrounds, across the river from Plains, MT.

Fritz G. Wipplinger was born in 1923, probably in Dixon, Montana and attended school there. His parents were George F. and Anna Laura Wipplinger. He passed away in 1992. The Fritz Wipplinger Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund, a Scholarship Fund in the State of Montana, has been established in his name.

Fritz's Memorial is one of two just inside the gate of the fair grounds, in a large open grassed area. It consists of a square stone plinth upon which is mounted a large flagpole with flag. It is surrounded by a circular planter at ground level, in turn surrounded by a circular concrete walkway. Arrayed around the monument are five more flagpoles with flags of the US, Montana and local municipalities. A smaller plinth carries a bronze plaque with the following inscription:
