Tis at work depicts the history of the county in a panorama or images.

Description: The building faces east and is a three story buff colored brick structure. The east front of the building has a decorated frieze over the doorway and four long windows above the entrance which is clad with white stone. The base of the building is a dark red color. The third story is inset from the first and second stories.

"Created 1876. Organized 1888. Named for Samuel Price Carson, Secretary of State, Republic of Texas.
A pioneer county in oil and gas development.
Panhandle, county seat, promised main lines of 3 railroads, was by-passed for Amarillo, yet became one of the 4 historic towns in Texas Panhandle." ~ State Historical Survey Committee, 1965
