I am a fan of Hard Rock Cafes, having been to at least 41 unique HRC locations. Some have since closed but a few of those have reopened in a different part of the city a few years later. Dallas, TX and Minneapolis/Bloomington, MN are two examples that closed the first location but reopened elsewhere later on.
In 2002, the Hard Rock Cafe Minneapolis, MN opened in the downtown area near Target Field. This location of the HRC operated until the end of 2011 when it closed down. Three years later, in October of 2014, a new Hard Rock Cafe reopened inside the Mall of America! I ate here on Oct 21, 2014. The "by invitation only" Grand Opening Party was the following night. The HRC website and Facebook page were not really clear on when it officially opened, but the signs all over the mall say it is and the Facebook page declares it open as well. Come on in and enjoy a good meal while watching and listening to the classic rock and roll music videos.
The decor follows the classic rock and roll theme, with symbols lining the entrance into the cafe, posters, clothing, instruments and photos of rock and roll bands and iconic lead singers. The menu has improved in not only selections available but in flavor and presentation. The main dining room is on the first floor but a bar with some tables is found on the second floor.
Being in the middle of the Center Court inside the Nickelodeon Universe, the HRC is surrounded by family-oriented rides and attractions and a variety of specialty stores. This is a great location for a family meal. Plenty of food and soft drinks for the kids and plenty of entrée and brewed beverage selections for the adults. The address of the Mall of America is posted as 60 E. Broadway, Bloomington, MN. The address of the Hard Rock Cafe Mall of America is posted as 5115 Center Ct, Bloomington, MN. Enter the Mall of America however you arrive, and walk toward the Center Court where the Nicelodeon Universe is found. Can't miss the Ferris Wheel, the Ninja Turtle ride and the Sponge Bob Square Pants roll a coaster. Among all this, and more, is the Hard Rock Cafe. At night, look for the blue and purple neon lighting and the Hard Rock Cafe signage.
