This monument pays tribute to Viola A. Kenyon, founder of the Washington Territory Women's Relief Corps, an auxiliary of the Grand Army of the Republic. The marker is adjacent to a similar marker for Union Army nurse and American Red Cross founder Clara Barton. The text of the marker reads:
