Zámecký pivovar se sladovnou nechal zrídit v roce 1570 Václav Švihovský. 2.srpna roku 1746 v 9 hodin ráno pivovar vyhorel. Pivovar byl behem své existence ve vlastnictví nekolika šlechtických rodu: Šternberku, Harrachu, Mansfeldu, Löwenstein-Wertheimu, Kinských. Nejvetšího rozmachu dosáhla výroba na pocátku 20.století. Maximální výstav byl cca 7500 hektolitru za rok Po druhé svetové válce byl na majetek rodu Kinských uvalena národní správa. Roku 1946 uvaril pivovar poslední várku, provoz byl v tomto roce ukoncen. Do roku 2000 zde byly sklady, poté byl areál opušten. Z puvodního pivovaru se zachovala vstupní brána, ješte v roce 1960 zdobená renesancními sgrafity. Soucasná podoba budov pivovaru je z roku 1869.

The Castle Brewery with a malthouse was established in 1570 by Václav Švihovský. In 1746 the brewery burned down. It was owned by several noble families: the Sternberg, Harrach, Mansfeld, Lowenstein-Wertheim, Kinsky. Production reached its greatest boom in the early 20th century. Maximum production was about 7500 hectoliters per year After the second world war was the property of the Kinsky family imposing national administration. In 1946 the brewery brewed its last batch, the operation was completed this year. By 2000, there were stores, after 2000 the area was abandoned. The current appearance of the brewery buildings is from 1869.
