Rouyn-Noranda est une ville-MRC et depuis 1966, le chef-lieu avec Ville-Marie de la région administrative de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue1 à l'ouest du Québec, au Canada. Son économie est actuellement basée sur l'agriculture, l'exploitation et transformation des ressources minières et forestières, la fabrication d'équipements pour ces industries et un secteur tertiaire développé, dont les services administratifs.
En date de 2011, la ville compte 41 012 habitants, lui donnant le 26e rang des villes en importance au Québec3. La ville de Rouyn-Noranda regroupe environ 30 000 habitants de la population totale de la MRC.

This quite uncommon plane crossing sign, can be found on highway 117 in the north of Quebec, while traveling from south to north. It is located very near the entrance to the Rouyn-Noranda's city airport.
Rouyn-Noranda (2011 population 41,012) is a city on Osisko Lake in northwestern Quebec, Canada.
The city of Rouyn-Noranda is a coextensive with a territory equivalent to a regional county municipality (TE) and census division (CD) of Quebec of the same name. Their geographical code is 86.
Since 1966, Rouyn and Noranda constitute the capital of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region. It is also the seat of public university UQAT since 1983.
