This house can be seen in the center of Tallinn, side by side with other historical houses, many of them used as embassies.

It was initially built in 1809 and the first owner was a Swedish officer who moved to Tallinn.

The house was sold in 1850 by the heirs or the original owner to Count Alexander von Benckendorff, whose coat-of-arms can be seen over one of the doors.

The Countess Vera von Stenbock - the richest woman of Estonia - was the next owner. The building was by the Ministry of Finances during the 20th Century and nowadays (since 2003) it hosts the Office of the Chancellor of Justice of Republic of Estonia.
