The Zion Lutheran Church was a center of German culture in north St. Louis. It was the fourth church founded in St. Louis with the same mother church Trinity Lutheran in the Soulard area. The church was founded in 1860 and the current building had its corner stone laid in 1894. Though the area around the church deteriorated over the years the church has been maintained.
