In Moore County, NC on highway 73 is a short water tower that stores water for this fire department needs. Near the town of West End, NC, the community of Eastwood are lucky to have an abundant supply of water for the fire fighters. It is a hold over of a time when stations in the county depended on tankers to transport water to the scene of a fire. Now with the county water system serving most of the county, tankers are still needed but not as much with fire hydrants located along the service lines.
