Triton is the Greek messenger of the sea. He is the son of Poseidon and Amphitrite, god and goddess of the sea.

Triton the largest moon of the planet Neptune, and the seventh largest moon in the Solar System. It is the only large moon in the Solar System with a retrograde orbit, which is an orbit in the opposite direction to its planet's rotation and is believed to have been captured from the Kuiper belt.

A relief of Triton is part of the Gigantomachy Frieze in Berlin's Pergamon Museum.
