The country surrounding Binda is renowned for the growing of fat lambs & it is this wealth that saw such a fine church built here. Parishioners pass through a Lych Gate before ascending wide stairs to the church.

St James Anglican Church, a Gothic Revival bluestone and quartzite structure built in 1864 with dressed sandstone sills and fine stained-glass windows is of high local heritage significance.It is socially and culturally important for its association with the spread of the Church of England in rural New South Wales.

There was a note on the door to the effect that if you wanted to have a look inside the keys could be obtained from the Post Office. Time did not permit unfortunately.
