The Bureau of Land Management has been working to provide public access to the trails and headlands along the Pacific Coast. Stornetta is the newest, approved in March 2014, dedicated in July.

It is 1800 acres, donated by the Stornetta Dairy.
Hikers should be prepared for sudden changes in weather, and ground squirrel holes. Traveling with a buddy, Carrying water and a hiking stick are givens.
Parking is sparse. Climbing or hanggliding on the cliffs is prohibited.
Some folks may choose to be dropped off and picked up at another point. Basically it is coastal HW 1. No facilities. Day use only. Dogs on leash.

beaten down deer trails in grasslands; requires good fittness skills. no camping or fires in this National Monument.

scenic overlooks, hiking, tundra swans in season, other endangered wildlife.

cross country hiking. dogs under control due to nesting birds and other wildlife. Small coastal deer
