This Welcome Sign is right at the 60th parallel, the border between Alberta and the Northwest Territories.

The MacKenzie Highway (Hwy 35 in Alberta and Hwy 1 in the Northwest Territories) is the only paved crossing between Alberta and the Northwest Territories so this is a very busy highway.
The large Welcome Sign simply announces:
60th Parallel
Welcome to the Northwest
Territories.
The Northwest Territories is very proud that they are north of the 6oth Parallel and the 60th Parallel Visitors Information Centre just to north of the sign, gives out "Order of Arctic Adventurers, North of 60° Chapter" certificates.
The Northwest Territories is one of three territories in northern Canada and they have a population of about 43,500 in an area of over 1.3 million square km (over 500,000 sq mi).
