... byli rakouský šlechtický rod, jehož vetev se usadila i na území Moravy. Koreny rodu spadají do 14. století, kdy se jako první historicky doložená postava uvádí Mikuláš z Rogendorfu. Vilém z Rogendorfu se proslavil v roce 1529, kdy byl jedním z velitelu Vídne pri jejím prvním tureckém obléhání.

The roots of the family fall in the 14th century, when states the first historically documented figure of family - Nicholas of Rogendorf. William of Rogendorf became famous in 1529, when he was one of the commanders of Vienna city during the first Turkish siege.

Blazon (heraldic description):
Prapůvodním rodovým erbem Rogendorfů byl stříbrný štít a v něm červený lev kráčející po kosmo skloněném zeleném trojvrší. Lev byl jednoocasý a původně asi nekorunovaný. Od konce 15. století Rogendorfové svůj erb čtvrtili, když díky přivdání Markéty, poslední členky rodu Wildhausů, zdědili jejich majetek i erb – modrý štít a v něm zlatou šestihrotou hvězdu nad zlatou kvádrovanou hradbou se třemi zuby cimbuří.Wildhauský erb se dokonce dostal na čestnější pozici v 1. a 4. poli. Rogendorfové patřili původně do stavu svobodných pánů (baronů) – šlo o nejnižší stupeň vyšší šlechty. Po povýšení panství Rogendorf na hrabství se změnil titul i erb – přibyl střední modrý štítek s červeno-stříbrnou orlicí.
