On Elsinby Moor Nick Rowan finds a naked shoe salesman, Joe Duffy, who has been held up at gun point. A prime suspect for the robbery is the arrogant son of Lord Asfordly, Rupert, who is home for a visit. Rowan manages to arrest Rupert for drink driving, but has to let him go when Kate Rowan, the police surgeon, doesn’t arrive in time for the necessary blood test.
The Rowans’s go away for their wedding anniversary. Nick gets the booking wrong and they have to go home. By the end of the episode Nick has managed to book a luxury suite at a better hotel.
