In pictoresque valley near village Degirmenalti Köyü (Bitlis province, East Turkey) you can find meadows covered by beautiful specimens of Prangos ferulacea (Apiaceae - parsley family). For the preservation of this locality, collection or picking is prohibited.

Prangos is a genus of Apiaceae plants which is widely used as medicinal plants in Turkey. It has decompound leaves with very long narrow divisions, and a highly fragrant smell resembling that of new clover hay. Prangos ferulacea is probably the most common species of the genus in Eastern Turkey.
