An abandoned truss bridge stands next to its replacement along Cooke County Rd 398 across Dixie Creek, not far from Leo, TX.

There is a little information about this one at bridgehunter.com. The bridge is a twin 70 ft span Warren pony truss with alternating verticals and a deck width of 12 feet. It is still suitable for foot traffic, although one must be a little nimble to navigate the barriers on either end, placed to keep vehicles off the bridge. Like many older county road bridges, its having room for only one vehicle at a time probably wore thin, despite the remote location. Construction, placement, and decommission dates are unknown, although judging by the appearance of its replacement, this bridge was moved aside not too long ago.

There is no easy parking here, but on the southeast side of the creek there is a driveway into a pasture, with something of a pullout. That will serve, but please keep your eyes on your vehicle and make certain that you're not in the way of the landowner if he's trying to get into that driveway.
