Betritt man das Waldstation durch den Haupteingang steht südlich, wenige Meter entfernt, die Bronze "Läuferin am Start" (1936) geschaffen von dem Bildhauer Richard Martin Werner (* 1903 in Offenbach; † 1949 in Oberursel).
Nachdem die Skulptur auf der Berliner Olympiade von 1936 einen Preis bekam, nahm sie ihren neuen Standort 1938 im Waldstadion in Frankfurt am Main ein. Es ist ein (kleiner als lebensgroßer) weiblicher Akt in Startposition und steht auf einem Granitblock. Dem Bildhauer soll damals die Sprinterkönigin der 20er Jahre Emmi Haux Modell gestanden haben.
When entering the Waldstadion through the main entrance, a few meters away to the south, stands the bronze "Läuferin am Start", created by the sculptor Richard Martin Werner (* 1903 in Offenbach; † 1949 in Oberursel).
After the sculpture won a prize at the Berlin Olympics of 1936, it got 1938 its new location in the Waldstadion in Frankfurt am Main. It shows a (smaller than life-sized) female nude in start position, it stands on a granite block. The model for sculptor should have been the Sprinter queen of the 20s, Emmi Haux.
