The New Stanton Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1952, about a decade after the Pennsylvania Turnpike and a few years before the current I-70 Opened. New Stanton became a incorporated community in 1971 and serves the borough, portions of Hempfield Township, along with portions of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstate 70.
