Here in the Groseclose Cemetery in Kingsport, Tennessee is a homemade tomestone that marks the burial site of Judith Pierce, age 64 when she died on May 24, 1880.

This stone is another example of ones that have the letter D in reverse. What is different with this one, it appears whoever chiseled the letters on this rough hewn sandstone attempted to correct the mistake by changing the reverse D to the letter I, and adding a smaller D at the end to spell "DEID", and not "DED" with a reversed D.
