The map is the more favoured "heads-up" type display where locations ahead are at the top of the map and those behind at the bottom of the map. A big help to those that struggle with north-up type maps.
The map has a green background with roads shown in a slightly darker green. The more important roads are named in white lettering. Tourist attractions are shown in grey with a 3D effect to indicate what the building looks like. Parks and gardens are shown in a lighter shade of green.
As far as "you are here" maps go this would is well into the "useful" category.
