Location: The official address for Bellfield Park is 18 Bellfield Street, Ottawa, Ontario. This minuscule, minimalist, park is located approximately at the conjunction of Ottawa’s Fairfield Heights – Bayshore - Foster Farms neighbourhoods in western Ottawa. There is no official city park sign for the park.

Description: Bellfield Park is very small, roughly an equilateral triangle measuring approximately 60 meters on a side. It fronts onto Bellfield Street, which gives it its name. The other two sides border on the back yards of homes on Pulford Crescent and Mosgrove Avenue. Visually, on Google Maps, Bellfield Park looks like a stylized pine tree, with Reid Haven Road as its trunk.

Consistent with its very small size, Bellfield Park offers virtually nothing in the way of facilities. It is essentially a mowed lawn area sporting fourteen trees, a city-maintained trash bin, and a sign indicating that dogs are prohibited. At the time of Bellfield Park’s submission as a waymark, it contains one geocache, which makes explicit reference to the restriction against dogs. Based on an extremely small observational sample, the park seems primarily suited to sunbathing, playing catch with small children or teaching them how to kick a soccer ball, and building snowmen in the winter. It’s a veritable black hole in terms of the features one typically associates with a park: No sign to mark the presence of the park, no sidewalk, no paths, no buildings, no sports facilities whatsoever, no play structures, no swings, no benches or picnic tables, no water features, no known regular or episodic events, and no winter maintenance.

Bellfield Park appears in the City of Ottawa's official database of municipal parks. (See link URL.) It is searchable by name in both Google Earth and Google Maps, with latter’s Street View feature containing several images of the park along its Bellfield Street frontage.
