This six-bay wooden church building contains lancet stained glass windows and a steep sloping roof. The steeple above its front entrance is 110 feet tall, topped by a cross. The Sacred Hearts Shrine sits immediately south of the main church building.

The Sublimity Parish was organized in 1879; the current church building was constructed in 1889. Daily Mass (Tuesday-Friday) is at 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on Sundays. Adjacent to the church building is the historic Cemetery of Holy Angels, established in 1880.
