Through the generosity of Mr & Mrs. Beverly C. Hodges and with the cooperation of the City of Carrollton and the American Legion Post NO. 114, this park was made available to the people of Illinois for the location of the Rainey Monument
Dedicated August 12, 1937

"We were allowed to park our trailer beside the city park with no problem. Police checked on us on arrival and drove by regularly. Kids in the park during the day and at the pool were polite and not a problem. We spent four days there while researching genealogy. Nice little town." ~ Free Campsites.com
