The clock has its own tower on the roof of the building with a clock face on each of the four sides of the tower. This could probably be seen from many parts of the docks.

The clock face has a white background. The markings are pressed in one unit from a single sheet of metal with three concentric rings, working in pairs, to hold the parts together. The outer pair of rings hold the minute marks between them whilst the inner pair hold the hour marks that are Roman numerals. The rings and marks are all painted black.

The hands have a simple design and are also painted black.
