Vilanova S.J -survey pole (landmark) (ES) - European Historic Survey Stones, Monuments and Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This pole appears to be made of limestone and has the tekst:
"VILANOVA
S.J."
on it.
My experience tell me that this is a ancient boundery marker, put there fur survey purposes. However, at the site and on the internet I was not able to find any information about this pole /boundery marker.

3.5km to the east of this landmark, a village is located called Vilanova de la Muga, perhaps this has a relation with the landmark.

Anyone who knows more about it, please provide it.
