On East Main Street sits an auto repair shop which was a former gas station for many years. I located a picture of this gas station from 1984
here when it operated as a Mobil gas station. Prior to that, it obviously was known as the Beacon station and the Beacon sign still hangs in front of the building. I found an old picture of this station from the 1940s or 1950s that showed that there was once a large, round bulb on top of the building's tower that also read 'Beacon' but I haven't been able to locate the picture online. If/when I do, I'll post it here, it's a great picture.
There are a couple of other former gas stations along E. Main Street but this is by far the oldest and worth waymarking.
