There are several Geodetic Survey of Canada and British Columbia Control Survey markers on the big double arch bridge over the Kootenay River west of Creston. This one is a B.C.C.S. Benchmark on the southwest corner of the bridge.

The marker is a length of rebar, but it is surrounded by a cast iron collar with BCCS markings and the raised number 19. When standing in front of the plaque shown in the gallery, one will be standing almost on top of the marker. This is BM number three of three on the bridge.
