Rising approximately 30' tall, this colorful mural resembles the old story of the phoenix bird that rose from the ashes.
The top of the painting is a rendering of the Arizona state flag, which is a reflection of the sunrise in the background. Below that, rubble has formed into the shape of a phoenix bird, rising, like the story tells, from the ashes. At the bottom, a small village is portrayed, representing the beginnings of a powerful city.
All-in-all, this is a great mural, and well-worth a visit if you're ever in the downtown area.
