The old travel guide just has a short line: A State fish hatchery is at the northern city limits.
----- From "Texas: Guide to the Lone Star State" (1940)

A Texas historical marker helps determine this location. (Waymark WMK512) Although it closed in 1965, some of the ponds remain with bridges. Enjoy the walk around.

A new facility was constructed southeast of town as A.E Wood Fish Hatchery. (Waymark WMK4KM) It is part of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. (Link) The freshwater facility produces Florida Largemouth Bass, Channel Catfish, Rainbow Trout, and Koi Carp. Tours are offered on Tuesdays at 2pm and Fridays at 10am.
