Museum of Book in Zdar nad Sazavou has been opened since 1957 and is famous all over Europe. It is situated in the prelature of the former Cistercian monastery, today premises of the restituted castle of Radslav Kinsky. The main hall of the prelature (former refectory) is decorated by a large fresco painting by the artist K. F. A. Töpper. This museum is unique not only within the Czech Republic but also within Europe. In its area it belongs among the largest museums of its kind in the world. A permanent exposition of the National Museum is placed here. It describes evolution of book, typography and book craft, sorted into 8 units in chronological sequence.

Muzeum knihy ve Ždáre nad Sázavou, proslulé po celé Evrope, bylo otevreno již roku 1957. Je umísteno v prelature bývalého cisterciáckého kláštera, dnes areálu restituovaného zámku Dr. R. Kinského, jejíž hlavní sál (bývalý refektár) je vyzdoben velkou freskou od malíre K.F.A.Töppera. Toto muzeum je ojedinelé nejen v Ceské republice, ale i v Evrope. Rozlohou náleží mezi nejvetší zarízení tohoto typu na svete. Je zde umístena stálá expozice Národního muzea charakterizující vývoj knihy, knihtisku a knižní kultury, která je razena do 8 celku, chronologicky na sebe navazujících.
