Located at the NE corner of Miner Street Park are two concrete benches that contain small, oval plaques that read:

IN MEMORY OF
JIM CAULKINS
WEALTHY
IN HIS FRIENDS
3/8/11 - 9/21/97

These two benches are among many concrete benches located within the park although most of them are not dedicated benches but rather sponsored by the Yreka Soroptimist Club. I tried to do some online research for Mr. Caulkins but found little-to-no info. I did manage to make a connection to a 'James M Caulkins' who lived in Yreka and is related to a number of other Caulkins, locally. I'm assuming this is that James.
