Reference mark set by the National Geodetic Survey in 1974 for the 1927 point PIN but it is not listed on the data sheet for PIN (LV1165). The reference mark is located at the top of Lookout Rock in Patrick’s Point State Park about 5 miles north of Trinidad, California. The point is reached by a trail which begins from the Patrick’s Point trailhead parking lot. The reference mark is locate in a rock outcrop near the top of the trail to the summit Lookout Rock. The cap is marked PIN 1927 NO 2 1974. About 20 feet away is a cutoff piece 3/4” pipe cemented into bedrock, which is probably the original (1927) location of PIN.
