This museum is located along the steep ascent to the Merapi Volcano crater. Periodically, Merapi erupts, showering the neighbouring region (and people) with volcanic debris. In order to document this difficult state of affairs the locals have created this small museum, filled with everyday objects damaged by the recurrent eruptions. There is also an adjoining gift shop (which is larger than the museum).

On display are items ranging from motorbikes, to kitchen utensils, to display signs. A moving testament to the destructive nature of Mother Nature. A 'must stop and see', if you are on your way to the crater. Entrance is free.
Theme:
Well, yes, it is small, and somewhat informal, but the sign says "Museum".
