At the so-called 'St. Johann Kirche', the main church in Donaueschingen, Germany, Baden-Württemberg, is an old christian cross located. It stands beside the church.
The church is located in the center of Donaueschingen. It has been built 1724-1747 by plans of the architect Franz Maximilian Kanka.
The cross is made of red sandstone. At the cross is a sculpture of Jesus made of bronze.
It might have been created in 1902. There are inscriptions for the years 1902, 1904 and 1920.
Another inscription is:
'So sehr hat Gott die Welt geliebt, dass er seinen eingeborenen Sohn für uns hingab'
(For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son for us)
