Riversdale Beach Resort is situated 54km east of Masterton traveling on one of the Wairarapa's most picturesque country scenic drives all the way to the Pacific coastline.

Riversdale Beach is the largest beach resort in the Wairarapa and has year-round surf. The resort brags to have one of the best nine hole golf links in the country, where one can nearly see the Pacific Ocean from every tee. Riversdale Beach is 4km long and many hectares of rocks are exposed during low tide at either end of the two mile bay creating a family playground for fishing, snorkelling and crayfishing. Riversdale has a small general store in town that doubles as the fish and chip shop if you don't happen to land a big one on the beach! Surfers will have the best waves at high tide, however there are enough waves to surf at any time.

The beach is safe when there is only a small wave but large dangerous swells are common here and all beach users need to be very careful. Swimmers should stay in the Lifeguard patrolled area and all beach users should ask the Lifeguards for advice if they are in doubt.

Surfing: Surf at Riversdale can be good and there are normally some good bars at the northwest end. The beach works best at high tide but can be surfed at any tide. The beach is offshore in a westerly wind.

Parking: Available at various access points along the coastal road of Blue Pacific Parade.
